There are some who claim they buy Playboy magazine solely for the articles. Come now; just admit that you also grab it off the newsstand for its annual Cars of the Year selections. We're car guys after all and, well, there's cool pictures of cars in this particular issue. But seriously, Playboy went all out in testing the latest cars in order to determine the winners. Mentioning the fact that 2013 "as a historic time for gearheads," Playboy rounded up this year's finest and has just released its results.
Its overall winner for car of the year is the Jaguar F-Type, claiming it's the Jaguar they've been waiting decades to drive. The next list of winners was decided by category. Coming in at number one for sports cars (after the F-Type, obviously) was the Chevy Corvette Stingray. Runners up included the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, SRT Viper, and Porsche Cayman. Its top rated sedan is the Mercedes CLA 250, followed by the Cadillac ATS, Audi RS7, and Mazda3. For green cars, the Honda Accord Hybrid is numero uno. The BMW i3, Tesla Model S, and Chevy Cruze Turbo Diesel followed. Its top SUV pick is the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, with the BMW X5, Subaru Forester coming up next.
