Including performance diesels and four-pots with electric axles.
Volvo’s performance wing, Polestar, has some interesting ideas regarding the company’s future models. With upcoming engines expected to be downsized from the six and eight-cylinder units that Polestar has worked on in the past, the division plans to churn out some high-performance models with the use of four-cylinder engines. Polestar’s models will employ the four-pots to power the front wheels, adding an electric motor that sends power to the rear axles.
Furthermore, diesel engines could be used in some of the Polestar models. Company executives say the Polestar range will not be limited to the V60 and S60 models it currently covers, but will likely be widened to include an array of future Volvo models.
