Including performance diesels and four-pots with electric axles.
Volvo’s performance wing, Polestar, has some interestingideas regarding the company’s future models. With upcoming engines expectedto be downsized from the six and eight-cylinder units that Polestar hasworked on in the past, the division plans to churn out some high-performancemodels with the use of four-cylinder engines. Polestar’s models will employ thefour-pots to power the front wheels, adding an electric motor that sends powerto the rear axles.
Furthermore, diesel engines could be used in some of thePolestar models. Company executives say the Polestar range will not be limitedto the V60 and S60 models it currently covers, but will likely be widened toinclude an array of future Volvo models.
