Hot off the heels from the unveiling of the new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S is this bit of info coming from Autocar about the next GT2 and GT2 RS. Set to debut next March at Geneva, the new 911 GT2 will reportedly reach a top speed of more than 200mph and a 0-62 mph time of about 3.0 seconds. For comparison, the new Turbo and Turbo S have a claimed maximum speed of 198mph. The madness doesn't end here. The GT2 RS will arrive later in 2015 and it'll have somewhere in the neighborhood of 620hp.
Just compare that number to the Turbo (520 hp) and Turbo S (560 hp) for a moment. Yes, that's just downright bonkers. Both the GT2 and GT2 RS will be powered by the same 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine as the Turbo models and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be standard fare as well. The Turbo's all-wheel drive will be ditched in favor of rear-wheel-drive and a new four-wheel steer system will also be included.
