A Porsche 911 GT3 has a nasty run in with an oil spot on the track while speeding at 160 mph.
Our friends at Vivid Racing recently received an email from a French customer who happens to be a racing driver. He's also the owner of a 997 Porsche 911 GT3 that's just been involved in a serious crash while on the Catalunya F1 track while going at 160 mph. Due to some oil on the track, the GT3 spun out of control and crashed into the walls. Fortunately the driver wasn't injured but his car isn't likely in the best condition.
Still, he's planning to invest in a new support system that'll help prevent neck injuries and skull fractures. In the meantime, let's hope that 911 GT3 can be salvaged.
