In honor of the Porsche 911 turning 50, the main Central Feature displayed outside Goodwood House at the FoS this year will be a bespoke 911-inspired sculpture. Porsche will also be displaying examples of each of the car's seven generations at its stand and on the track, namely the G-Series (73-89), Type 964 (88-94), Type 996 (97-05), Type 997 (03-13), and the latest Type 991. There will also be a parade of seven 911 race cars including the 1973 911 RSR 2.8, 996 GT3 RSR, 964 911 RS and two examples of the rallying 911 including a 'Paris Dakar' Carrera 4x4.
An impressive lineup of historic Le Mans veterans will include the 911 GT1 '98, 95/78 'Moby Dick,' 1987 962, 936 Spyder, and iconic red and white liveried Porsche 917 'number 23' that secured the marque's first victory at the endurance event. Other Porsche 911s that will be vying for fans' attention include the 1,000-hp 917/30 Cam-Am car, 991-gen 911 GT3 and Carrera 4S, 997 911 GT3 Cup, and some very rare models will be on show at Goodwood's Cartier Style et Luxe Concours lawn including the earliest '901' from 1963, 1987 Turbo SE 'flatnose', 1989 Speedster, 993 GT2, and a 1998 GT1. CarBuzz will be bringing you exclusive images from the Goodwood FoS, which kicks off on Thursday.
