Seeing a new car on the streets is always different from seeing it under the bright lights of an auto show, so although this first sighting of the new Porsche 911 Targa - captured in the carmaker's hometown of Stuttgart - fails to capture the new convertible roof in action, it does provide fresh perspective. Available solely with all-wheel drive and with 3.4- and 3.8-liter flat-six engines, the Targa 4 and 4S feature that distinctive Targa roof bar, a movable front roof section - opened and closed via a simple push of a button - and a wraparound rear glass window.

If you like what you've seen thus far, sales will start in the summer, with Porsche asking at least $101,600 for the Targa 4 and $116,200 for the Targa 4S. Hat tip to Toldi!
