The Lamborghini Diablo is an icon, no doubt about it. It was more or less the definitive supercar of the 1990s in terms of mass market appeal and performance. That being said, times have changed. The Porsche 918 Spyder is a great example of this. Whereas the Diablo VT seen in this video sports a 5.7-liter V12, the more modern 918 has a 4.6-liter V8 paired to two electric motors. Both have all-wheel drive but regardless a drag race between these two is lopsided from the start.

As you'd expect the Diablo VT gets smoked. It's still fun to watch the old-timer duke it out with the high-tech hybrid, though. Also, on sound alone the Diablo VT beats the 918 Spyder any day.
