In a preview of a Geneva-bound model, Porsche has decided to reveal its Black edition Boxster S for the first time. The Boxster S, which will be limited to only 987 examples, boasts a 3.4-liter flat-six engine that can produce 316-horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This considerable boost in power from the standard model means that the S can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, a tenth of a second faster than the Boxster S.

Of course, each model will be finished in black inside and out with a black-rimmed steering wheel, black touches to the dashboard and instrument cluster as well as black roll-over bars, side air intake grilles and twin exhaust pipes. The Black Edition also includes lightweight ten-spoke alloy wheels, special badging, and all the standard sat-nav, and mp3 player gizmos we'd expect. The vehicle goes on sale from March and will be priced at £47,426 ($76,464).
