The Porsche Cayman may simply be mistaken as a the hard top version of the Porsche Boxster.Just think how easy it would be for Porsche to weld a roof onto the Boxster, change a few features around, give it a new name, and raise the price. It'd be just too easy and Porsche is too good of an automaker to allow badge engineering. It comes with the Boxster's engines as well as both transmission options. However, both engines have additional horsepower and that's where the differences begin.
The Cayman is just simply a different car in that it feels tighter and more rigid, thereby creating a different driving experience. But what's ironic is that the Cayman resembles more of what the 911 use to be: a small and simple, bare-bones sports car.
