Porsche isn't an automaker you'd expect to have a rich history in Thailand, but the news 911 Carrera GTS 30 Years Porsche Thailand Edition celebrates just that.

The special edition 911 Carrera GTS is available in seven colors, each corresponding to Thailand's cultural association of a color to each day of the week. According to Porsche, the day of the week someone is born in Thailand is just as important as the date, and in the past Thai people would dress to the color of the day.

The seven Paint to Sample colors Porsche offers for these special editions correspond with these colors.

The days of the week and represented with the Porsche colors:

  • Monday (Yellow) - Signal Yellow
  • Tuesday (Pink) - Rubystar
  • Wednesday (Green) - Signal Green
  • Thursday (Orange) - Pastel Orange
  • Friday (Blue) - Riviera Blue
  • Saturday (Purple) - Ultraviolet
  • Sunday (Red) - Fire Red

As with anything to do with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, an incredible amount of effort has gone into developing the unique colors and the process for creating them and making sure the results are consistent and intense. The results speak for themselves in how the colors give the car a unique character.

The exterior paint color is the main draw for the 911 Carrera GTS 30 Years Porsche, but there are further bespoke touches to set the special edition apart. The 20- and 21-inch Turbo S center lock wheels are standard on the GTS but finished here using a unique two-tone made up of black and the chosen exterior color. The brake calipers are also black, but the Porsche crest adds a little color. The B-pillars feature a "30 Years Porsche Thailand Edition" plaque, and five slats on the rear decklid are painted with the red, white, and blue of the Thai flag.

Inside, interior trim pieces are finished in the corresponding exterior color, and the seats show off Black corduroy inlays and Pebble Grey seat piping. Finally, a unique anniversary logo is stitched onto each of the headrests.

To mark the launch of the special edition, Porsche showed off a one-of-a-kind "Inspiration Car" hand-painted using all seven colors.
