Electric Porsche Macan Spied With Taycan-Like Interior

Spy Shots / Comments

It's very clear Porsche EVs will share a common thread.

After months of chasing the Porsche Macan EV all over Europe, we finally have some photos of the SUV's full interior. Or, at least, as much of the interior as we're likely to see before a debut. Our spies captured the Macan EV testing on the Nurburging, where its drivers were putting the EV through a few hot laps.

Inside, we can see that there is a lot of Taycan influence. The steering wheel is typical Porsche, and we just know a few of those parts, like the rotary dial, are lifted from the Taycan. We've spotted the interior before, as you can see below, and not much has changed (aside from image quality).

It appears the electrified Macan will include the Sport Chrono pack, as so many Porsche models have before it. Again, the other components of the dash appear to be very much similar to the Taycan's layout. That means three screens, one for the driver, one for the infotainment, and one for climate controls by the driver's knees. We could also see a fourth for the passenger, again like the Taycan.

Notably, Porsche appears to have gone with a left-oriented power button, something the 911 has done in the form of a keyhole since its inception. It's a nice touch, as is the frameless dash screen. From the looks of things, there's also some kind of device fitted to the steering column that we haven't seen.

Now, given the prototype's early build, this could be just about anything. It could be for testing, or it could be some feature we haven't seen in a new Porsche yet. For now, we don't even have so much of a rumor regarding this little instrument.

The Porsche Macan EV will have some 600 horsepower when it arrives. Like the Taycan, it will use Porsche's 800v architecture for fast charging, reportedly from 5% to 80% in 25 minutes. Despite delays due to software, the car is still on schedule for its 2024 launch.
