When you think of a car like the Porsche Panamera, fuel efficiency is likely not on your mind. A car like this was never really intended to be a so-called "green car." However, times change and suddenly fuel efficiency is on many peoples' minds. And partly due to the extraordinary success of the Tesla Model S, Porsche realized that it had to make its Panamera competitive in the quickly emerging segment of high-performance and efficient luxury. Perhaps its best answer so far is the Panamera S e-Hybrid.

Don't think for a moment that this is some detuned Porsche. No, this thing can go from 0-62 mph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 167 mph. Remember, the Panamera S e-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid but it still has a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 under the hood. That's not a bad combination at all.
