Porsche Panamera Wrapped in Velvet

Offbeat / 98 Comments

For when mirror chrome wraps just won't do.

From Champagne Gold to comic-book art, we've seen wraps of all colors and styles. But this is the first we've come across made of velvet. Carried out by UK-based Raccoon Vehicle Branding on a Porsche Panamera, the material was created by Velvet-Cars and is as easy to look after as a conventional vinyl wrap. Dubbed the "Velvet Elite Wrap 9100," the flexible film can be applied to a car's interior and exterior and comes coated with special adhesives and durable textile fibers to withstand severe weather conditions.

Apparently it's been a real head-turner on the UK roads, with some coining the car the "furry mouse." Those Brits really do have a funny sense of humor. The vehicle branding company says this is the first of its kind in the UK, but is expecting more people to customize their rides in velvet with available colors ranging from fuchsia pink to orange. Maybe they should reach out to Nicki Manaj, whose pink Bentley Continental GT is screaming out to be coated in velvet.
