A snow-covered Nurburgring and a Group B Porsche: What's not to love?
Is there anything the Porsche 911 can't do? In vehicular-fun-having-ability, probably not. The Nurburgring's official YouTube channel decided to share five minutes of naturally aspirated air-cooled Porsche bliss. The 911 SC RS, seen here in Rothmans guise, gleefully plays on the snow-blanketed Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit. Driver Patrick Simon sits at the helm of the Prodrive-prepped 911 SC RS. The SC RS was Porsche's 290-horsepower entry into Group B rallying, and the 1984 season saw Porsche take home overall victory in seven events.
A homologation variant was then offered featuring a 3.0-liter flat-six that produced 255 horsepower. Don't expect to find one of those on eBay. Instead embrace professional "hoonery" and the aural sensations that only an air-cooled 911 can bring.
