Porsche's Greatest Racecars Were Carried to the Track in This Mercedes Truck

Motorsport

Stuttgart brands unite!

Porsche is doing pretty well in motorsports right now, but there was once a time when it was the only name in endurance racing. When the works teams needed to get to the track, Porsche had to look elsewhere for a transporter as it doesn’t make commercial vehicles. Luckily, that other famous carmaker from Stuttgart does. So Porsche racecars rode in a Mercedes truck to get to races where they would be pitted against Mercedes racecars. It’s kind of touching in a way.

This is one of the two 1968 trucks used by Porsche for decades as a transporter, and it is now in the hands of a Porsche dealership/vintage race team. Seems appropriate.
