Porsche Satisfies Buyers Better Than Anyone

Industry News / Comments

It's the third time in four years that Porsche trumps all other premium brands.

In automotive surveys that evaluate how customers feel about their cars, Porsche has a habit of ranking at or near the top. The manufacturer's cars are not just well-engineered, but the brand as a whole also provides an appealing overall ownership journey. That's been underlined by the results of the J.D. Power 2021 US Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study. Once again, customers of new cars rated Porsche as the best premium brand. This is Porsche's third win in four years in the same study, having regained the top spot it held in 2018 and 2019. Among both premium and mass-market brands, Porsche leads the industry.

The study is based on responses from 35,387 people who either leased or purchased a new vehicle between March and May 2021. The brands were rated on the entire new car buying process, including aspects like the delivery process, ironing out the transaction details, and dealership personnel. Porsche's excellent performance in these categories allowed it to reach a score of 833 points, up by eight points over its performance in 2020. In the premium category, Porsche was followed by Infiniti (825 points), Lexus (820), Cadillac (814), and Lincoln (813). The segment average for premium brands was 807 - lagging far behind were Audi (787) and Genesis (738).

With sales of models like the Cayenne and Taycan booming in the US, perhaps it's no surprise that Porsche has seen this excellent SSI Study result.

"This is a fantastic response from our growing community of Porsche customers, built on the dedication and creativity of our dealers," said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of PCNA. "Together with our dealers nationwide, we continue to invest in dealerships as destinations, enhancing our digital retail touchpoints and strengthening the Porsche culture and sense of community among our customer base."

Whether you're in the process of shopping for a new Porsche, behind the wheel of one, or even just visiting one of the brand's experience centers, Porsche knows how to take care of its fan base.
