Now that beats using a 24K gold-plated shovel.
Any groundbreaking ceremony for a new building project follows a set list of guidelines. You have all of the principles there, the architects, and the ubiquitous 24K gold-plated shovel to dig up the first soil. Unless you are Porsche Canada, who decided to rip a few dirt donuts to throw around large rooster tails of earth in a Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo.
The event marked the groundbreaking ceremony for the latest Porsche Experience Center, which will be located in Pickering, Ontario, Canada, just west of Toronto.
"The kick-off to this construction project represents the culmination of years of dedication and planning by teams on both sides of the Atlantic," says Marc Ouayoun, President and CEO, Porsche Cars Canada. "More than a circuit, the future Porsche Experience Centre Toronto will represent a unique, exhilarating, and memorable place where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the brand and its products."
The Porsche Experience Center (PEC) in Canada will be only the third in North America after PEC Los Angeles and PEC Atlanta. Porsche's product showcase continues to roll-out worldwide in key markets and this Toronto-area PEC will be the tenth one built.
The PEC Toronto will be inside a unique complex called Durham Live. The 20-acre site features a casino and luxury hotel already operating on site but future plans include a concert venue and over 400,000 square feet of shops and restaurants. Now that the latest Porsche Experience Center will be located there too, it sounds like a place we want to move to.
Aside from the impressive news, Porsche Canada still wanted to make a statement, so they rolled out a few models including the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo. Not just to sit on static display but do sweet EV dirt burnouts to throw around the ceremonial dirt. Who needs a shovel when you have 562 horsepower to dig four holes in mere seconds?
