The world debut of the hotly anticipated Taycan, Porsche's first-ever electric vehicle, is getting closer. Porsche has already released a lot of technical information about its upcoming Tesla Model S rival, but now we're starting to learn about its innovative in-car entertainment system.

Porsche has announced the Taycan will be the first production car to fully integrate the Apple Music streaming service. Using the touchscreen display inside the cockpit, Apple Music subscribers can stream over 50 million songs free of advertisement, as well as thousands of curated playlists, and the Beats 1 global livestream with three-year complimentary in-car internet data. This is the first-ever full integration of Apple Music in any vehicle.

"Porsche and Apple Music fit perfectly – we share common values, and the same relentless attitude to user experience, to quality engineering, to design, and to innovation," said Porsche sales chief Detlev von Platen. "Together, we bring innovative digital entertainment technologies in our high-performance sports cars, starting with our fully electric Taycan."

As part of Porsche's collaboration with Apple, Taycan owners will be able to use voice control to request songs, albums, playlists, or radio stations on Apple Music, as well as create their won station on Apple Music from songs discovered while listening to broadcast radio.

Exclusive curated playlists from Porsche will be available and owners will get complimentary in-car internet data for three years with external antenna and roaming package. New and existing Porsche owners will get up to six months free of Apple Music and Apple CarPlay is also supported.

With the announcement, Porsche has also given us a peek inside the Taycan's sleek cabin, including its first fully digital instrument panel and a steering wheel similar to the new 911's. The Porsche Taycan will debut next month before going on sale at the end of the year. The all-wheel-drive electric sedan will have over 600 hp and an 800-volt architecture, enabling short charging times. The lithium-ion battery will boast a capacity of around 90 kWh.
