Porsche and Recaro have collaborated to create what can only be described as the perfect office/gaming chair.

Known as the RECARO x Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition, this branded pew will make the perfect addition to any Porsche aficionado's gaming den or office. You may scoff at the admittedly steep price of $2,499, but the sleek chair - styled to resemble a bucket seat - is more than just an opportunistic cash grab. Before we get into the intricate details, however, let's take a look at the aesthetics.

The black, red, and gray color combo was carefully chosen by Studio F.A. Porsche and is said to be based on the brand's motorsport vehicles. Another nod from the automotive world comes in the form of the embroidered Porsche crest on the headrest, an option made available on the marque's varied offerings.

The sporty fabric is swathed across high-quality foam which, in turn, covers the ergonomically optimized seat shell. For added comfort, the breathable seat material ensures you'll be comfortable no matter the ambient temperature. Those who sit behind a desk for hours on end will come to appreciate the integrated anti-submarining seat ramp and lumbar support which should keep the back aches at bay.

As you'd expect, the seat is adjustable for height and the backrest can be made to recline. Unlike some of Porsche's luxury-oriented motorcars, you'll have to make do with manual adjustment; shifting wheels allow the user to dial in their preferred seating position. Whether or not this justifies the price remains to be seen, but you're unlikely to find a co-worker with the same chair. Production is limited to just 911 units, a nod to the iconic Porsche 911 sports car.

This isn't the first time Porsche has designed an office chair, previously releasing one that cost as much as $6,570. Compared to that, the RECARO x Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition looks like a bargain.

It certainly isn't the most spectacular motoring-inspired chair we've seen in recent weeks. Last year, a team at Volkswagen set about turning a regular office chair into a motorized one chock full of features. Inspired by the all-electric ID. Buzz, VW's creation boasts a reverse camera, 360-degree sensors, headlights, and an infotainment system.

Still, if neither of these is deserving of your derriere, you could always look to Mercedes-AMG for the answer. The zany designers over in Affalterbach have also put their minds to designing an office chair, and it's just as cool as Porsche's latest effort.
