And now with an RX F Sport.
Nowentering its fourth generation, the 2016 Lexus RX has just been unveiled at theNew York Auto Show. And for fans of Lexus' new design language and especiallythe smaller NX crossover, this new generation should offer much more of a proven goodthing. The RX now incorporates Lexus' trademark spindle grille and a new aggressivefascia, in addition to triangular sharp lines, flared wheel arches and 20-inchaluminum wheels. Also noticeable are the curved rear lights and edges, cornersand creases throughout.
The2016 RX will arrive with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 making 300horsepower and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheeldrive. Also, the hybrid version is back with its 3.5-liter V6 and smallerelectric engine, producing a combined 300 hp with more efficiency. Lexus alsopromises a sportier version, the RX F Sport, with sporty styling and additionalperformance features, including alloy wheels, a dedicated instrument clusterand sports steering wheel with paddle shifters. The RX F Sport also gets an activestabilizer system, Adaptive Variable Suspension, Drive Mode Select System witha Sports S+ Mode and more.
All trims will gain a longer wheel base, improved cabin spice and moreluxury and comfort features. Lexus is also boosting safety with its SafetySystem+ package. According to the company, "Our ambition has been to makea completely new statement in this segment while building on and staying trueto the ground-breaking values of previous RX generation". As the company'sbest-selling model in all of its markets, customers better be ready for theluxury SUV's eccentric new styling.
