It's here and it's magnificent.
After a few teaser images, Bugatti has officially released images of its upcoming concept, the Vision Gran Turismo. And it's absolutely magnificent. Details regarding powertrain and supposed performance capabilities haven't been announced just yet, but we'll learn more in another week or so when the Vision Gran Turismo has its official live debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Set to be featured in an upcoming version of the Gran Turismo video game, the concept is obviously a one-off and it's not for sale.
More importantly, it previews some styling traits that are likely to appear on the Chiron, which itself will premiere in March at Geneva. The design celebrates "Bugatti's racing history and is based on state-of-the-art motor sport technology...and is a tribute to its great racing tradition of the 1920s and 1930s and its victories in Le Mans 24-hour races." Designers knew the concept had to look unmistakably like a Bugatti, and that every part of it had to have a real function. Note the distinctive side profile, horse shoe front grille, eight-eyed LED headlights, and center fin. The interior also has a nice mix of luxury and race.
Achim Anscheidt, head of Bugatti Design, stated that his "team normally works only for the exclusive and very distinguished circle of the brand's customers. Now Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo has given us the opportunity, for the first time, to do something special for our fans as well. When the target group suddenly grows from 450 Veyron owners to several million fans, gamers and high performance aficionados, it is a very exciting matter. We had a lot of fun with this project."
