Only due in the United States in 2024, tuners have already begun working their magic on the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, with Prior Design showing us how the cheerful styling can be enhanced with a new body kit. We expect this to be the first of many customized ID.Buzz models, as the squared-off, practical vehicle provides a great foundation for designers to think out of the box. In a video shared by Prior Design, a tuner better known for modifying high-end supercars, we can see a more aggressive ID.Buzz with lowered suspension, unique front/rear fascias, and large Rotiform wheels. These changes give the van some real street cred, although it won't be as practical over rougher surfaces as the standard model.

The two-tone ID.Buzz seen here is finished in a combination of white and gray, with the gray applied to the roof and upper body, and the white used lower down. It has a new front lip, different side sills, and a sporty spoiler on the roof that resembles the design of the taillights. The company has even incorporated a prominent diffuser. There isn't another van on the market that looks nearly as sporty, and we can't see even the SUV-style Kia Carnival pulling off a body kit with the same poise.

Prior Design also showed off a two-tone red and gray version, and it had many of the same upgrades that were applied to the white one. In the video, the designer is still clearly playing around with the look, so this may not be the final kit that will be available.

Even though Americans are still in for quite a wait, it seems as though the ID.Buzz will be worth it. The hugely practical interior is full of useful features like tray tables, more USB ports than a large family will know what to do with, and a removable center console known as the Buzz Box.

For a minivan, it'll also be quick. A few days ago, it was confirmed that the ID.Buzz GTX with 335 horsepower will debut later this year. Sadly, the GTX isn't in the pipeline for America, but an all-wheel-drive version with the same output is coming here, so customers will get a comparable level of performance and can upgrade the styling as they see fit. A camper variant is also in the works, and this will hopefully make its way stateside.
