One of the main drawbacks to the Q7 was its fuel economy. Audi has taken note and is now offering a clean diesel engine option. Available to the US beginning in 2009, the 3.0 TDI V6 has 237 horsepower and the ability to deliver more than 29 mpg. Technically advanced, it also reduces C02 emissions with the help of the selective catalytic reduction system. This converts nitrogen oxides by using a catalyst into diatomic nitrogen and water.

The TDI model deliver much better fuel economy while still offering all of the luxury features one would expect on a $50,000 + vehicle. Still, the Q7 is a large vehicle and we're expecting for Audi to downsize it for the upcoming redesign.
