Only 25 will ever be made.
Radical Motorsport is teasing a new "track-only flagship" for 2023. You may not have heard of the brand before, but it's a small British manufacturer that produces lightweight cars with monster engines. Its first car, the SR1, weighed roughly 1,100 pounds and was powered by a Suzuki superbike engine.
It promises to be appropriately insane, as it doesn't have to conform to road regulations like today's crop of hypercars, including the Aston Martin Valkyrie. Radical promises that "Project 25" will enter production in Q4 2023, just before the company's 25th birthday.
The brand says that Project 25 was designed " to showcase the culmination of knowledge that Radical Motorsport has amassed through producing world-class racing cars from its UK premises for over a quarter of a century." Unfortunately, Radical isn't giving much away yet.
It says that the P25 will use the brand's signature space-frame chassis "to deliver outstanding driver engagement and feedback synonymous with the Radical brand." Thankfully, we have some loose specs, and they make Project 25 sound like an absolute monster.
The car will use the brand's V6 twin-turbo engine to produce roughly 850 horsepower. We've brightened up the image below to try and give you a better look at the car.
Radical has said that the Project 25 can trace its roots back to the RXC road car from some eight years ago. That car also used a V6 twin-turbo powerplant, though it came from Ford's Ecoboost lineup. We expect it could be a very similar powerplant in this upcoming car.
Some VIPs have already seen the car, and we're betting most of the examples are already sold. Joe Anwyll, Radical Motorsport CEO, said: "'Project 25' has been designed and will be built to commemorate this milestone and showcase the knowledge and skills our UK-based engineering and manufacturing firm has to offer. We are proud to preview the first glance to press today after unveiling the car to our dealer network and guests of the World Finals [in Las Vegas, USA] yesterday."
Radical will only produce 25 cars, another nod to its 25th birthday. Deliveries are slated for the end of 2023.
