Citroen hatchback fitted with rally-scene diorama in 1:43 scale.
No, that wasn’t a typo. Sure, the headline might have read “DS3 Goes Rallying”, but that’s old news. Citroen’s chic hatchback has already won 21 world rallies and two World Rally Championships. So to celebrate, Citroen has fitted a roadgoing DS3 with a model rally stage. The 1:43-scale diorama is fitted to the hood, windshield and orange roof of the DS3, depicting nine different rally stages - those where Loeb scored each of his world titles - with little Citroen rally cars on tarmac, sand, dirt, gravel, snow and ice.
The project was created by Kieron Barter of Funky Lemon Design and was displayed after two months of hard work at the convention of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, an automotive trade industry in the UK. It will then be displayed at a variety of venues, celebrating the unprecedented nine WRC titles accrued for Citroen by Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena.
