The Ram 1500 continues to make its mark on the full-size truck market. So much so that it's been deemed good enough to tow Santa's sleigh and a ton of other festive floats for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, being held tomorrow morning in New York City. More than 60 trucks and ProMaster commercial vans will be taking part in the annual holiday event that draws millions of viewers and attendees.

The Ram 1500 Limited Red Edition has been assigned the specific honor of guiding the white-bearded man's sleigh instead of Rudolph and his reindeer gang. The Red Edition is the result of the automaker joining forces with (Red) to help fund life-saving programs via contributions to the Global Fund. Apple does something similar with its (Product) Red iPhones.

It was founded by U2 frontman Bono and Bobby Shriver back in 2006 to help in the fight against AIDS. More recently, the fund has turned its attention to combating the devastation caused by Covid-19. Based on the Ram 1500 Limited, the Red Edition features unique red grille lettering and door and center console badging.

Two familiar engines are available: the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel six-cylinder. Pricing begins at $64,945 and sales are currently underway. Ram, Jeep, and Fiat made a $4 million commitment to the (Red) Global Fund between 2021 and 2023.

The other Ram trucks taking part in tomorrow's parade include the 1500 Night Edition featuring a custom-wrapped Lego design and the 2500 Power Wagon 75th Anniversary Edition. "As the brand that is 'Built to Serve,' the Ram Truck brand is honored to serve as the official truck of this iconic parade as our full portfolio of award-winning trucks pulls these floats down the streets of Manhattan," said Mike Koval Jr., Ram CEO.

The 95th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will get underway Thursday morning beginning at 9 a.m. EST.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
