Three special-edition Ram 1500s join the 2022 lineup.
With a starting price of $69,995, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is the most expensive version of Ram's full-size performance pickup by a huge margin. It's also the fastest and most powerful, with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 generating a colossal 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. If you have more money to burn, Ram has revealed a new special edition TRX for 2022 called the Ignition Edition loaded with extra standard exterior and interior equipment. Presented at the State Fair of Texas, the Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition instantly stands out thanks to its eye-catching Ignition orange paint with contrasting black accents and graphics.
Other standard exterior equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, spray-in bedliner, cargo tie-downs, a bed step, and an LED cab-mounted brake light.
Inside, the interior is trimmed with Copper Orange stitching matching the exterior and the seats feature an embroidered TRX logo.
The cabin is also enhanced with carbon fiber accents and an orange center console badge. Standard tech includes a head-up display, a driver's screen with an Ignition Orange TRX graphic, and pedestrian emergency braking. This extra equipment comes at a premium, however. Pricing for the Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition starts at $91,585, plus $1,695 destination. Sales start in Q4, 2021, with production limited to just 875 units.
Buyers can still add more when they specify the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group. On the regular TRX, this adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, additional power seat adjustment, a wireless charging pad, and loads more for $7,920, meaning the Ignition Edition can easily become a near-six-figure truck.
Joining the TRX Ignition Edition at the State Fair of Texas are two other new special editions of the regular Ram 1500. Replacing last year's Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary (pictured below), the new 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork includes a multi-function tailgate, deployable bed step, spray-in bedliner, metal pedal kit, and Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain tires. It also features adjustable cargo tie-down hooks, LED box lighting, and a cargo divider. Inside, the interior is finished in a unique Mountain Brown color. Bucket seats are fitted as standard along with suede door bolsters with a leather insert and a laser filigree detail. The 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork starts at $61,620, excluding destination, and will go on sale in Q4, 2021.
Finally, the 2022 Ram 1500 (RAM)RED Edition was built in partnership with the (RED) charity. Based on the Ram 1500 Limited Night, the Ram 1500 (RAM)RED Edition is available with a Limited Crew Cab and a V8 or EcoDiesel. The Ram grille logo and door badging are finished in red and a (RED) badge adorns the center console lid. The Ram 1500 (RAM)RED will set you back $63,250, excl. destination, with sales starting in Q4, 2021.
"Buyers demand a good-looking truck with easy-to-use features. They tell us their Ram trucks are an extension of their personality, and they want to stand out from the crowd," said Mike Koval Jr., Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer at Stellantis. "Ram customers demand even more and our new models deliver that with a selection of exterior and interior appointments and content for even greater personalization."
