Range Rover Evoque Updated For 2017 With New Special Edition


Better act fasts, as the new black and red scheme will be sold for just three months.

As part of a range of updates for the carmaker’s bestselling model, a new special edition of the 2017 Range Rover Evoque boasting a striking black and red color scheme will be available for a limited time of just three months. Dubbed the Ember Special Edition, the new model is based on the HSE Dynamic and comes finished in Santorini Black and Firenze Red. 20-inch satin black alloys, black exhaust finishers, black ‘Range Rover’ and ‘Evoque’ lettering, a blacked-out grille and dark-tinted front and rear lights are other exterior mods.

The two-tone theme continues inside with Ebony Black seat, Pimenton Red contrast stitching, and red and black carpets. Power in the special edition will come exclusively from from a 177-hp 2.0-liter diesel mated to a nine-speed automatic. Priced from £47,200 in the UK, the Ember Edition will go on sale this summer. Those shopping for a 2017 Range Rover Evoque will also find more body colors to choose from, with new additions of Aruba, Farallon Black, Carpathian Grey and Silicon Silver premium metallic paint, which takes the number of color options on the trendy SUV to 18.

Introduced on the Range Rover Evoque Convertible, the new and improved 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system is also being fitted to 2017 models, coming standard on the HSE Dynamic, Dynamic Lux, and Autobiography. Features on the new touchscreen, which comes with the same swipe, pan, and zoom controls you'd find on a smartphone, include 3D maps and a bird’s eye view surround camera system. Those looking for a Range Rover Evoque SE Tech model will also be thrilled to hear it comes with 12-way powered seats and automatic high beam assist as standard.

Other new additions include a ‘Low Traction Launch’ that’s said to prevent wheel spin on low friction surfaces by controlling the amount of torque the drive can apply, while he top-of-the-line Evoque Autobiography also receives some attention in the form of a new Graphite Design Pack, which includes new 20-inch wheels and black exterior highlights.
