The Deer Valley Edition is named after the exclusive winter holiday destination in Utah.
Land Rover has launched an ultra-exclusive and luxurious variant of the Range Rover Sport called the Deer Valley Edition, which is limited in production to just 20 units, each priced at $165,000. The target audience is none other than seriously wealthy winter lifestyle enthusiasts.
The Deer Valley Edition was unveiled at the Range Rover House Park City location, one of several dotted across the United States and has been influenced by the exclusive Utah holiday destination of the same name. Among its standout features, the Deer Valley Edition has a distinctive Deep Gloss Vermillion Red exterior wrap paired with SV Bespoke 23-inch wheels painted in Satin Dark Grey and enlivened by Carbon accents.
The black-painted roof and black exterior details add to the menace the luxury off-roader exudes. We're not sure how Deer Valley fits into the overall look, but there's no denying Range Rover has done a stellar job here.
Described as a "sanctuary of calm and purpose," Land Rover has elected to trim the Deer Valley Edition's innards with the finest semi-Aniline leather finished in two-tone Cloud and Ebony. As for the inlays, the British brand has selected Satin Forged Carbon interior panels which match the athletic exterior style.
Deer Valley models are based on the plush Autobiography grade, but to set it apart from regular derivates, the special models will receive door sills with "Deer Valley Edition" and "1 of 20" etched into the metalwork. The cupholder lid also features the signatures of World Cup Ski Champions Ted Ligety and Lindsey Vonn.
Sadly, Land Rover has shared no interior shots of the newcomer.
The Deer Edition is powered by the glorious P530 V8, which means owners will enjoy the mighty bellow of a 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine that pumps out a substantial 523 horsepower.
"The Range Rover Sport Deer Valley Edition is for those who appreciate a modern expression of luxurious alpine life," said the company's Joe Eberhardt. "We are proud to introduce this ultra-exclusive vehicle to our guests at Range Rover House Park City, an ideal location to showcase the style and capability of the Range Rover Brand."
As far as niche vehicles go, the Deer Valley Edition is about as niche as it gets. Then again, just 20 examples will be made, and Range Rover will certainly sell the entire allocation to monied clients wanting to stand out from the crowd. Getting your hands on one may prove difficult, as the company has given guests of the Range Rover House first preference when it comes to purchasing an example.
Interested buyers will have to fork out $165,000 for the privilege of owning this exclusive Range Rover, but the company has said it will donate $5,000 from the sale of each vehicle to the Youth Sport Alliance, an organization that helps get children involved in sports in the Park City area.
This isn't the first time Land Rover has launched a limited edition at a Range Rover House. Last year, the SV Carmel Edition - based on the top-of-the-line Range Rover - was revealed at the automaker's exclusive location in Monterey, California.
Priced at an eye-watering $345,000, just 17 examples were slated for production, ensuring absolute exclusivity. Then again, at those prices - it cost more than a Bentley Bentayga - one would expect it.
