But only 17 people will be lucky enough to own one.
The current-generation Land Rover Range Rover is the most luxurious one yet, and with that opulence comes a higher price tag. In fact, the flagship Range Rover SV trim with the long wheelbase rings in at a whopping $218,300 - that's Bentley territory. But Land Rover is always pushing the envelope, which why the company revealed something special at its Range Rover House in Monterey, California. Introducing the 2023 Range Rover SV Carmel Edition.
This exclusive Range Rover will only be sold in the North American market, and it's limited to just 17 units. Only guests at the Range Rover House who attended Monterey Car Week will be allowed to purchase one. So if you're reading this from anywhere else, you're out of luck. It's just as well, because the SV Carmel Edition is priced at $345,000, about the same price as a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
The Carmel Edition is based on the Long Wheelbase Range Rover with the SV Signature Suite, which features an ultra-luxurious four-seat configuration. Passengers will enjoy a front-to-rear console running down the entire cabin that contains a powered Club Table, electrically deployable cupholders, and a refrigerator. Inside of that refrigerator, customers can sip champagne from SV-etched Dartington Crystal glassware.
Land Rover chose a special interior color scheme for this special edition. The Near-Aniline leather interior includes Liberty Blue front seats with contrasting Caraway rear seats featuring exclusive Carmel Edition embroidering. This exclusive leather is paired with Gloss White ceramic controls and Satin White ceramic finishers. SV Bespoke branded sill guards cap off the interior with "Carmel Edition" branding and 1 of 17 numbering.
The exterior is painted in a stunning Bespoke Satin Bronze, which is matched with SV 23-inch Diamond Turned, Dark Grey Gloss wheels with matching Satin Bronze inserts. At night, SV Bespoke puddle lights shine on the ground. Power comes from a new 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 sourced from BMW. As in other Range Rover models, it produces a healthy 523 horsepower going out to an all-wheel-drive system through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
"The Range Rover SV Carmel Edition pays homage to the beauty of the Carmel Coast," said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. "We are pleased to present this ultra-exclusive vehicle to our guests at Range Rover House and showcase the craftsmanship and design elements which make this edition so special."
Along with the car, customers will receive two Titleist Custom Club fittings at Titleist's Performance Institute golf club plus full club sets for the owner and their partner. The club fittings are a nice little bonus, but they are hardly worth $345,000. Land Rover says a portion of the proceeds from each Carmel Edition will benefit the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, helping to protect the beautiful marine area of the coast of California's Big Sur.
