In case you haven't heard, rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday. Court documents listed his assets and debts to be between $10 million to $50 million. So what happened to all that dough? A jury just ruled that he must pay $5 million in compensation to a woman after posting a sex tape of them without her permission. But is he really broke? The bankruptcy filing is, more than likely, simply a way to avoid paying out that settlement.
A Chapter 11 filing doesn't have to mean you're broke; it could also mean you have cash flow problems. But does 50 Cent really have cash flow problems? After all, here he is filling up the trunk of his Lamborghini Murcielago with $2 million in cash back in 2010. Here are just a few of the rides he owns.
