A truck getting sweet air at the Silver Lake sand dunes is nothing new. The people that come here arrive with heavily modified machinery for that exact reason. Yet it's not every day you see a truck flying a good 180 feet. Mike Higgins made that distance in his Ford Raptor (which actually looks more like a custom Baja truck the F-150 Raptor emulates) after screaming up Test Hill and launching at high speed. He got big air and covered plenty of ground but his trophy truck pivoted almost vertically before landing on the rear frame.

The result is a truck bent in half and a totally destroyed front suspension. Thankfully no harm was done to the driver and the spectators were treated to a sight they'll never forget.
