Having led a 35-year accident-free existence, this NASCAR-inspired 429 Mustang Boss was bought in 2003 and subjected to a highly detailed frame off restoration completed in 2011. All of its original panels were stripped to bare metal, thoroughly worked and a correct coat of Candyapple Red was applied from tip to tail. An original and fully functional hood scoop sits above a stainless trimmed grille, flanked by ridged fenders with beautiful chrome bumpers at the front and rear.

A Trans Am style spoiler, color-keyed race mirrors, rear fender scoops, and aluminized exhaust turn downs are other areas of note. The pretty stuff aside, when the glossy red hood is raised, a completely rebuilt correct 429 cubic inch V8 capable of 500hp can be found. From silver accessory brackets to the correct cast iron exhaust manifolds, this is an exceptionally detailed engine bay and everything is absolutely spotless. Expertly detailed original floors match the car's pristine body, with the original close ration Top Loader 4-speed hooked to its original flywheel and bell housing.

At the back, a rebuilt leaf spring suspension holds correct drum brakes at the edges of a factory-equipped rear sway bar and in the middle, subframe connectors parallel an exhaust system complete with H-pipe, resonators and transversely mounted muffler. 15-inch chrome Magnum 500 wheels put the power to the pavement. Looking inside the Boss 429 and there's a restored Clarion Knit vinyl interior with hi-back bucket seats, fully rebuilt gauges and bright re-chromed knobs. A full length center console holds a traditional chrome Hurst shifter, and the car's original factory optioned Rim Blow deluxe steering wheel has been fully restored.

Priced at $179,900, the sale of this sinister 1969 Mustang is by RK Motors Charlotte and comes with the original KK sticker, a complete Marti Report, two reproduction window stickers and pictures of the engine rebuild. Check out the video for more details and to hear the Boss 429 sounding as good as it looks.
