Technically a truck, and definitely pushing the bounds of street legal, but still fast as hell.
Much has been written about the twin-turbo 10-liter V8-powered 1998 Chevy S-10, which holds the record for the fastest street-legal car in the world. The majority of that seems to be devoted to explaining how it could be street legal, so we’re not going to get into that again. What we are going to mention is that its previous record quarter mile time was 6.16 seconds, making it easy to see why nobody was faster.
Well, now you can watch it make a pass at 5.95 seconds at 244 mph, faster still and (another) a new record.
