But there's a good reason why.
Back in February, the Nissan Rogue Sport was given a refresh for the 2020 model year, with a redesigned exterior and a slew of new safety tech. And now we know how these updates will affect the price because Nissan has announced pricing details for the 2020 Rogue Sport.
Whereas the 2019 model started at $22,340, the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport starts at $23,240 for the entry-level S model with FWD, an increase of $900. The AWD version of the S model starts at $24,590 while upgrading to the Sport SV trim will set you back $24,750 with FWD and $26,100 with AWD. Topping the range is the Sport SL trim, which starts at $28,450 with FWD and $29,800 with AWD.
Slotting between the Nissan Kicks and Nissan Rogue, the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport features a redesigned exterior with a new hood, Vmotion grille, and bumper, redesigned rear taillights, and LED daytime running lights. New 19-inch aluminum wheels round off the exterior changes.
Regardless of the trim, every 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 141 horsepower, sent to either the front or all four wheels through an Xtronic transmission. As standard, the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport is equipped with Nissan's Safety Shield 360 technologies, including the base S trim.
Nissan's Safety Shield 360 includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, radar-based blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and high beam assist. Previously, Safety Shield 360 was only offered on the SV and SL grades.
Other available technology includes Nissan's ProPilot Assist, intelligent driver alertness, traffic sign recognition and a Bose premium audio system that includes a subwoofer. All trims also include a seven-inch touch screen display with Apple CarPlay and Android support. Nissan Door to Door Navigation and NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM are also available.
