CSL are legendary letters for M3 fans. Like the formula applied to the Porsche GT3, Ferrari Scuderia and Lamborghini Superleggera, CSL stood for more power and less weight. BMW produced less than 1,400 such stripped-out track monsters in 2004, and now Reil Performance has gotten its hands on one. Reil has stripped even more weight - down from 3,050 lbs to 2,778 - with carbon fiber doors and trunklid, topped with a Porsche GT's rear wing and Plexiglas side and rear windows.

The power side of the ratio has also gone up in the M3 CSL's 3.2-liter inline-6 from 360 horsepower to 391. Couple those mods with a freer flowing exhaust, BBS wheels on Yokohama rubber, Bilstein shocks and the brakes from - you guessed it - the Porsche GT3. The result: a Nurburgring lap time of 7 miunutes, 43 seconds, making it faster than an Audi R8 V10, or more pertinently, faster than the M3 GTS that essentially succeeded the CSL. All that performance doesn't come cheap, though. Reil quotes the conversion price at €130,000.
