European buyers looking for high performance combined with utility can do a lot worse than Renault's range of hot hatches. But what you need more space than those pocket rockets can offer? Renault has the answer with the new Megane Estate GT 220. The French automaker's new performance wagon packs a 220-horsepower version of Renaultsport's 2.0-liter turbocharged four from the Megane RS into a more versatile form, along with a series of other performance-oriented upgrades.

The suspension, brakes and steering have also been optimized for a sportier ride, while Renault's Sport&Start ignition system keep fuel consumption and emissions under the EU's radar. 18-inch wheels sit at each corner, trimmed in gloss black to complement the trim on the mirrors, diffuser, air scoops and roof rails. The interior has also been given the Renaultsport treatment with red stitching and a unique gear knob. Renault will only produce a limited number of these sport-wagons (although the exact quantitiy and pricing were not disclosed), each with an individually-numbered plaque.
