Listen, we know you're probably not excited by Renault. But when it comes to concept cars, maybe you should be. Just look at this new Twin'Run concept. Set to debut at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, the Twin'Run is the second extreme city-car concept recently released by Renault (following the awesome Renaultsport Twizy F1) and the second show car to preview the upcoming new Twingo (following the hyper-modern Twin'Z concept by Ross Lovegrove). It also channels the spirit of the Renault 5 Turbo and Clio V6 RS.

Renault has taken the V6 from the Megane Trophy racer, enlarged it to 3.5 liters and mounted it in the back. It channels 316 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a SADEV competition-spec six-speed sequential gearbox and limited-slip differential for a 4.5-second 0-62 time. That astonishing pace (for a hatchback) is further enabled by a lightweight tubular chassis with fiberglass bodywork to keep weight down to 950 kg, cloaked in Gulf-inspired blue and orange livery and fitted with pretty extreme aero kit. The interior boasts Alcantara-clad Sparco seats and electronic instruments.
