JDM fans, get ready to flip, because there's a new sort of exotic car rental company coming to southern Las Vegas this year - one that can put you behind the wheel of your favorite never-sold-in-America Japanese cars.

The company is named RentJDM, and it's slated to open its doors sometime in 2020.

The company touts that they "have those cars, available for rent, so you can get the real JDM experience" before you decide to plop down money on buying an imported JDM car. Currently, even the cleanest and lowest mileage example of an R32 Skyline GT-R isn't worth quite as much as today's latest Nissan GT-R, but it's still a lot of coin to spend on an older car.

The US has some of the most stringent car import rules in the world, requiring that any foreign-market car turn 25 years old before it can be imported and driven on public roads. Get caught violating that rule and your imported dream machine is liable to be seized and destroyed by US Customs and Border Protection.

RentJDM is playing within those rules, offering a collection of nifty, vintage JDM classics for rent. So far, the company's collection includes the 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R, 1993 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo II, and a couple of cars Americans might be less familiar with.

Namely, there's the 1993 Suzuki Cappuccino - a microscopic Kei car convertible that makes even the Mazda Miata appear sizable - and the 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTi-R - an all-wheel-drive three-door hatchback Rally homologation car.

Interested? There's something you should bear in mind: all of these cars are configured for right-hand-drive. That poses some problems for driving on American roads, which are designed for left-hand-drive cars, and photos of JDM car drivers reversing through fast food drive thrus aren't uncommon on the internet.

But that's a small price to pay for the opportunity to drive some truly unique, awesome vintage machinery. We're not sure exactly when RentJDM is aiming to start renting out cars, but you can bet we'll be among the first in line.
