According to a few inside sources, the new 2012 Range Rover Evoque will be getting a more family friendly version of the standard model. Several years ago, Land Rover was debating whether to build a seven-seater LR2, but the plans fell through following Land Rover's sale to Tata Motors. If the plan goes through, the total stretch for the Evoque will be around 12 inches including a 1.2 inch taller roofline.

The added inches will increase storage space, resembling the BMW X6 in size. Front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations will be offered in addition to the option of several four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Under the hood, the Evoque will offer a turbocharged version of Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and will give an output of a comfortable 240hp. Inside the Evoque, the five-door will include a 825W Meridian premium sound system, rear-seat entertainment package with twin 8-inch screens.

Some other features include hard-drive based navigation system, panoramic glass roof and a Surround Camera System that features a 360 degree view. Pricing for the 2012 Range Rover Evoque is expected to start at around $45,000.
