Report: Aston Martin to Build Next-Generation Maybach

Report

Recent reports are stating that Daimler is in talks with Aston Martin to outsource Maybach production. The report is according to the Financial Times, and while the details are limited, the report says that the two companies are working on hammering out a new agreement. The agreement would stipulate that Aston Martin would get engine technology in exchange for building the next-generation Maybach.

The deal would mean that Maybach would no long be stuck with old S-Class platforms, and Aston would be able to tap into Mercedes' awesomely powerful engines. Not to mention, a Rapide-based Maybach would also be a life-saver for the struggling Maybach brand. This also wouldn't be the first time Aston Martin and Daimler (MBZ/Maybach parent-company) have worked together. Remember the despised Lagonda concept based on the Mercedes GL? Yeah, that was them. Hopefully this time there will be better results.
