Two new shooting brake variants are set to launch from Mercedes-Benz in the next couple of years.
Mercedes-Benz Chairman Dieter Zetsche has finally given the green light to the rumored second shooting brake variant of the CLS. This new variant will join the upcoming CLC as the foundations for the refreshed A-Class and B-Class models. Mercedes wagons usually feature some sort of vertical design, however the CLC shooting brake will keep a long and sleek design throughout its retro body-style. The new models will run on Mercedes new four-cylinder engines which are being developed as we speak.
The gasoline engines will feature direct injection and will be coupled with automatic transmissions. The vehicles will launch as front-wheel-drive but will eventually be offered with all-wheel-drive options. The CLS shooting brake is expected to price below the standard CLS variant and is expected to come out in 2012 and go on sale in 2014.
