As we speculated in an article from September 27th, the new Bentley SUV will officially be equipped with a W12 taken from the Continental. The properly powerful SUV's motor will come from the next generation Bentley Continental, meaning the luxury vehicle will have enough muscle to provide a great driving experience along with comfort. Speaking with Autocar UK, Bentley Chief Wolfgang Durheimer said the W12 "makes clear whose car is the boss" in the SUV game.

The English automobile manufacturer will also reportedly offer a diesel engine borrowed from VW stable-mate Audi. Speaking about his SUV, Durheimer continued: "Absolutely thousands of premium SUVs have been sold - Cayennes, Range Rovers, Q7s and so on - but nobody has given those owners the chance to upgrade. We will." He can feel extra confident of success, as the British outfit has hired away Rolf Frech to head the operation (of Porsche Cayenne fame). The SUV is expected to launch in 2015 to give Bentley's lineup a much-needed boost.
