Recent reports suggest Polestar, Volvo's racing outfit for the Scandinavian and World Touring Car Championships, will be doing a lot more work for the Swedish automaker. Volvo seriously wants to get into the performance car market, and Polestar has already showed their worth by souping up the S60 and XC60 R-Design models. The first collaborated project between Polestar and Volvo will be on the all-wheel-drive C30 PCP (Performance Concept Prototype) hatchback.

As the first car with the PCP badge, a new subdivision of Volvo could follow (think BMW's M series). The C30 will pack an impressive 400hp and accelerate from 0-62mph in less than 5 seconds. If the hatchback gets the green light, a limited run of 500 units should arrive in the UK. Pricing for the C30 PCP hatchback is expected to be around £50,000 and only be available in the UK (for now).
