The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is no more, unless you manage to find a used example for sale. Only 3,300 examples were made in 2017 and all, not surprisingly, quickly sold. Dealership markups were unfortunately common as well. One of those fortunate enough to buy a Demon was none other than NASCAR legend Richard Petty. He purchased VIN #0043 on purpose, which matches stock car numb,) and now it's up for sale on eBay. The car's owner authenticity can be verified by the included photos and by the fact Petty signed the vehicle in several places, such as the dashboard.

Anyone familiar with NASCAR history will know Petty is the most successful NASCAR driver of all time, winning seven championships and 200 race wins. He won the Daytona 500 seven times. Now aged 82, the King of Racing is still active. He owns his own NASCAR team and a restoration shop in North Carolina. Why is he selling the car?

No reason was provided, but it currently has a 'Buy it Now' price of $159,000. The sale includes a crate full of Demon-only parts. Also included is the factory window sticker, original title, and several photos of him standing next to the car. Also, Petty barely ever drove it. There are just 449 miles on the odometer. Now, the Challenger Demon came with an MSRP of $86,090, including the destination charge and gas guzzler tax.

Petty's Demon, however, understandably has a higher price and we don't think it's totally unreasonable. As of this writing, there are still three days left until the bidding ends but, so far, no bids have been placed. Even at $159k, you'd still be getting an 808 horsepower and 717 lb-ft of torque drag strip destroyer.

This is clearly supercar-level power. Fuel economy? Well, it's not great. Try 13/22/16 mpg city/highway/combined. But no one buys a Challenger Demon because of good fuel economy. They were bought for one reason only: to own the drag strip. This Demon, with Petty's signatures and all, is ready to cause some drag strip mayhem.
