Last July, Bugatti and Rimac announced a new joint venture, paving the way for a new generation of all-electric hypercars. The Rimac Nevera is only the beginning. Rimac is the majority shareholder in the new Bugatti-Rimac company with a 55 percent stake while Porsche and Hyundai hold 22 and 11 percent stakes, respectively. Other investors hold the remaining 32 percent. Mate Rimac is CEO and Porsche serves as a strategic partner. Stephan Winkelmann is no longer Bugatti CEO, now focusing all of his energies and talents as Lamborghini CEO.

With that all settled, it's time to talk expansion. Rimac has announced that construction of its new €200 million global state-of-the-art headquarters is currently being built in Zagreb, Croatia.

Upon completion, the Rimac Campus will be one of Europe's largest combined R&D and production facilities. The facility will enable Rimac to increase production time and rates, including prototype and smaller volume projects in addition to high-volume production of an electric drivetrain and battery systems for several global automakers. As expected, the Nevera will also be built there as well as all future Rimacs and all other key components.

There will also be an on-site test track, museum, and testing facilities for design, engineering, and production. Rimac wanted to ensure the new HQ was futureproof upon completion in 2023.

"This is a place where customers, students and the general public are welcome and invited to mingle with our employees," said Mate Rimac. "We also take great care to integrate the facility into nature and its surroundings and to be carbon neutral."

All future 2,500+ employees will benefit from an on-site kindergarten for their kids, a game room, gym, and restaurant. Even farm animals will be found roaming around. Visitors will be treated to a showroom and retail space. Not surprisingly, there will also be several top-secret project rooms housing the latest technologies and, very likely, future EV hypercars.
