Houston-based Risi Competizione has just unveiled their latest Ferrari 458 GT racer. It' been designed to compete in the American Le Mans Series. Power has been restricted to 465 hp with the use of air restrictors. This is more than 100 ponies less than the production Italia. The reason? Class restrictions. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed paddle-shift gearbox, which sadly won't be installed in time for Sebring.
The weight has also been regulated, at a minimum of 2,745 lbs. The new car will make its official debut at the 59th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in Florida. The drivers will be Ferrari racing veterans Jaime Melo, Toni Vilander, and endurance racing expert Mike Salo.
