In recent videos, Rivian has been focusing on the R1T's off-roading prowess. We've seen the electric pickup get torture-tested in the snow and on rocky canyons, but now, Rivian is focusing its attention on the R1S SUV.

In a video shared by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe, we finally get a look inside the electric SUV's spacious interior. In response to people asking how the rear seats fold down, Scaringe demonstrates how the tailgate can be lowered and the second and third-row seats can be folded completely flat and align together in the pre-production model, providing ample room for loading camping gear for people who want to take the electric SUV on off-roading adventures.

In Scaringe's words, the Rivian R1S has an "awesome car camping setup." With the seats folded down, the seven-seat R1S provides up to 108 cu-ft of storage space.

The 6ft 2 CEO was even able to lay flat on the floor, so there's enough room for to taller people to sleep comfortably inside the R1S overnight. While the R1S shown in the video is the seven-seat model, a five-seater version will also be available with extra cargo space. Sadly, we don't get a clear look at the front row, but the production model will be equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

In its most powerful configuration, the Rivian R1S is powered by four electric motors producing a combined 750 horsepower, enabling the electric truck to accelerate from 0-62 mph in under three seconds while offering an electric range of over 300 miles. The R1T, on the other hand, has a longer range of over 400 miles.

Deliveries for the Rivian R1S SUV and R1T truck are scheduled to start in August. Pricing for the R1S Launch Edition starts at $77,500, while the base Explorer trim starts at $70,000 with deliveries starting in January 2022.
