Porsche is no stranger to dropping hints about its upcoming products. The company placed an Easter egg of the forthcoming 911 GT3 in last year's Super Bowl commercial. More recently, Porsche released a video showing Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay driving the new Taycan where the singer drops a subtle hint about an upcoming new product.

You may remember Jay Kay for his excellent taste in cars and for being the former fastest celebrity around Top Gear's test track. Now, in a video of him driving the Porsche Taycan Turbo around Silverstone, he's suggesting a new Taycan GT is in the works.

He begins driving leisurely around the track before pulling over to look at a 911 GT2 RS, the most extreme track car Porsche has ever built. After a quick pitstop, Jay Kay goes back on the track to set some fast laps. With 750 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque coming from two electric motors, the Taycan Turbo S shoots from zero to 60 mph in a ridiculous 2.4 seconds. So even when it is lined up against a 700 hp gasoline car like the 911 GT2 RS in a drag race, the Taycan walks away with a victory.

Towards the end of the video, Jay steps out of the car and mutters, "Lord only knows when the Taycan GT comes out." This might be a throwaway line from the rock star, but it seems odd that Porsche would comb through what was likely hours of footage from the film day, and leave in a section that could hint at a future model. As we said, Porsche likes dropping little hints like this one, so perhaps an even faster Taycan is in the works.

Porsche's GT cars are notoriously the best driver's cars around, and with a new 718 Cayman GT4 RS in the works, a Taycan GT could add to an ever-growing GT portfolio with its first track-focused electric car.
