Rolls-Royce's latest creation is certainly designed for class and luxury. Hand-built at Rolls-Royce HQ in Goodwood, England, the Ghost Extended Wheelbase has an extra 170mm added to its total length which is in addition to its already spacious interior. The upgraded interior is something to see while the British automaker sacrificed nothing in performance. A panoramic sunroof comes standard on the new Ghost while styling remains consistent with the standard model.

Reaching 170mm longer, the size was compensated for in the doors, as the rear suicide doors gain an extra 35mm. Inside the cabin you can really feel the added space, as legroom is more than doubled for the rear seat passengers from 160mm to 330mm. New forged wheels give the Extended Ghost some pizazz. "Ghost Extended Wheelbase is the latest Rolls-Royce in our range of pinnacle luxury cars. It is a model of outstanding design and unrivalled luxury, with ride and handling credentials underpinned by the best in engineering expertise. It is the very best of both worlds," said Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos.

The rear passengers are seated in the lap of luxury. Leather lounge seats are placed slightly behind the C-pillar to give the occupants comfort and an added 'sense of privacy'. Theater options allow the passengers to control all the settings from the rear seats, including two 9.2 inch LCD screens in the back of the front seats. Optional wireless internet makes business during travel all the more possible. Ghost Extended Wheelbase runs on the standard Ghost's 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine. The motor churns out 563hp and rides on an air suspension system that allows all those horses to feel like a smooth ride.

Performance numbers shift just a tad, accelerating from 0-62mph in five seconds and hits a top speed of 155mph. The transmission is an eight-speed ZF automatic. The Rolls-Royce Ghost first appeared in September 2009 and was exceptionally well-received. The new Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show this week and will enter production later this fall. The power and luxury of the new Ghost will have you agonizing over whether you want to drive or be a passenger.
